Till a curse from the lord of the fairies came to pass
And they became the mountain in the land of Sarawak
According to legend, Princess Santubong & Princess Sejinjang is actually the daughter of the Sultan of Brunei 2 which has 7 people escape with their son, after their father (Sultan of Brunei) have been killed by a conspiracy around the 18th century.
Given the run of 9 "Prince & Princess" is heading to the Malay who had crossed the South China Sea, the brothers they have agreed to leave their 2 sisters in an area near the Kuching now, at the Mount Santubong.
The people of Sarawak (Dayak) that the hill is always surprised at the presence of 2 beautiful daughters who have never met them, and considers both the princess "Down From Kayangan" and the "Guardian of Mount Sarawak" (which appears in the lyrics Puteri Santubong song).
The two princesses were initially peaceful life but eventually become enemies because of their respective beauty defend and declare them the most beautiful in the world. Because of the fighting, one of them had moved to another hill called Bukit Sejenjang.
Puteri Santubong and Puteri dispute Sejenjang ultimately lead to death when they were both killed each other with each other. Thus was born the legend of Puteri Santubong and Puteri Sejenjang we hear to this day.
